    Stefan Beckman for Marc Jacobs

    Share |

Stefan Beckman designed the set for Marc Jacobs' SS 2016 runway show at New York Fashion Week!

Taking place at the famous Ziegfeld Theatre, Jacobs' show was an ode to the movies, America, and New York City itself with garments reminiscent of old Hollywood, literal stars and stripes, and dressed-up grunge. To further enhance the experience, the marquee outside read “Marc Jacobs: One Night Only!” in glowing, red letters. Guests were given boxes of Marc Jacobs-branded popcorn and playbills, and cigarette girls walked the aisles to hand out Junior Mints and Hot Tamales. It was something of a journey through time and style.

The runway itself was also a journey. Outside of the Ziegfeld, models emerged on the red carpet, which was lined with movie lights and paparazzi. Each girl then stopped at the step-and-repeat for a quick photo op before walking into the theater. Once inside, the girls zigzagged around the venue while trumpet-player Brian Newman and his band played the New York Dolls’ 1973 song “Trash” in front of the big screen, which played the live feed of the runway.

Exposure NY Founder and Owner Stacy Fischer attended the show last night! "I love the clothes," she said. "I want to buy everything!"
