Stacy's Picks: Hedwig and the Angry Inch

    Share |

Exposure NY’s newest artist, fashion stylist and costume designer Arianne Phillips, is making serious waves on Broadway! She is making her Broadway costume design debut with the costumes for “Hedwig and the Angry Inch” and what an amazing first impression! The breakout musical was nominated for multiple Tony awards, including Arianne for her costume design. I got the chance to go the show last night and all I can say is WOW, I was blown away!

To quote her New York Time’s interview, "Arianne’s mantra is to build a character from the shoes up," and when you see those gold boots, you know exactly what she means! The show stars Broadway-favorite Neil Patrick Harris whose wardrobe is a show in itself. From glitter to rhinestones, he’s hard to miss. Co-star Lena Hall’s costumes are fabulous as well! Glam rock is definitely alive and well with both of their big hair and sparkle. Later this month, Andrew Rannells (whom you might recognize as Elijah in the hit HBO series “Girls”) will be taking over the role of Hedwig, and I’m so excited to see him rocking those gold boots!

So, if you’re looking for an amazing show, Head over to the Belasco Theatre and see “Hedwig”! And, if you're interested in seeing more of Arianne's work, her portfolios are now live! See her editorial work here, and her advertising work here.

Check out this great article on the New York Times’ site about Arianne’s designs for the show.
