Stacy's Picks: Fashion Week SS 2013
Fashion Week is always big, but for Exposure this year it was BIG!! Our artists worked their magic on more shows than ever before! 26 to be exact. They were 26 beautiful, awesome, fabulous shows, and I'm in the mood to celebrate. So I asked everyone around the office to share their favorites and gush along with me. Below is a little Exposure NY love for our wonderful artists and all their accomplishments!
And once you've heard from everyone here I want to hear from all of you! Let us know which were your favorite and join in the celebration!
Stacy's Pick: Marc Jacobs
This was absolutely one of my favorite of Stefan Beckman's collaborations with Marc Jacobs. The set was a perfect compliment to Marc's modern interpretation of 60s mod, bringing it into the 21st century. I love the thick white carpet and white leather tiles of the runway not to mention the drama of the revolving doors. The models movements were so involved with the design of the set that I have to say it was the most interesting and dynamic finales I've seen all week.
Joyce's Pick: Thakoon
I love this hair. It is so simple from the front, but has a beautiful wave in the back. I can't wait for Odile to tell me what Kerastase products she used to accomplish this look!
Megan's Pick: Theyskens' Theory
Let me tell you... There was a whole lot of talk about these wigs in the weeks working up to this show. Odile cut and personally colored each and every wig. She spilled an entire packet of brown dye powder all over her fashion week apartment kitchen. Everyone at the show was talking about designer Olivier's new cut and how the models' hair mimicked his new look without a thought about all of Odile's hours of hard work. Odile always makes it look so easy :)
Megan's Pick (#2): Rachel Zoe
Had to choose this show as we had two Exposure NY artists working on this beauty look.
Manicurist Honey custom mixed three separate Maybelline nail lacquers to create a peachy/pink/opalescent shade that the designer Rachel was referring to as a "70s nude." Let's just hope that Maybelline bottles Honey's creation.
And Odile not only gave the models bangs, but also Rachel herself. It was also Odile's final and 12th show of the week. It was nice to see Odile take a breath, sit down, and smile after an insane week!
Elise's Pick: Rodarte
I wasn’t a goth girl, but my punk rock roots were awakened (were they ever really sleeping?) with this season’s Rodarte show. Odile’s slick, simple hair was a perfect complement to the goth-y feeling of line. Dragon ear piece – I'm totally down!
Alexis' Pick: Skaist Taylor
I loved the simple, natural beauty look that Polly Osmond created for the Skaist-Taylor Spring/Summer 13 show. That fresh faced look is the one I will be rocking come summer for sure!
Rachel's Pick: Victoria Beckham
If ever there were a show fit for royalty it was this season's Victoria Beckham. The set design by Stefan Beckman was rich, intense, and perfectly regal. It was amazing to see the New York Public Library's Astor Hall transformed into a Fashion Week ready runway!
Pauline's Pick:Cushnie et Ochs
Wow I really love the pearl manicure by Honey. Pearls are the rarest of treasures, unique in every way, just like the manicure!
Nicole's Pick: Christian Siriano
Christian Siriano's ballet inspired collection is so gorgeous and reminded me of getting ready for my own ballet recitals as a little girl. Everything from the soft pastels to the exquisitely flowing gowns to the beautifully done make up by our very own Polly Osmond - it came together perfectly!
