George Cortina in collaboration with Jacques Marie Mage
Jacques Marie Mage and renowned fashion editor George Cortina announce the release of their first limited edition collaboration: two specially developed variations of two of the eyewear brand’s most iconic styles: the “Dealan” and “Jagger”.
One of fashion’s most respected arbiters, George Cortina has worked with some of the world’s most celebrated photographers (like Inez Van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin, Lachlan Bailey, Mario Sorrenti, Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott, and Mikael Jansson) styling some of the world’s most talented and beautiful models and entertainers, to create editorial and advertising for some of the world’s most prestigious brands, including Bvlgari, Calvin Klein, Cartier, Emilio Pucci, Giorgio Armani, Thom Browne, and so many others.
Cortina and JMM founder Jerome Mage worked closely to take two of the brand’s most popular products create them in their most pure expression. To create the ultimate Riviera frame, they took the “Jagger”, inspired by Bianca Jagger and Studio 54, and produced a titanium frame in gold with a Boxier lens shape and a triple fade gradient lens color that speaks to the hedonistic heyday of the late 70s.
Since both Cortina and Mage are huge Bob Dylan fans, they took the “Dealan”, which is modeled after the famous pair of glasses the singer-songwriter toured within the mid-60s, and stripped it down to its essence, creating a pure black frame (no lamination) that includes as few details as possible—not even the signature arrowhead hardware that has embellished the style since JMM first produced it in 2015.
Chic, sleek, and iconic, both frames are filled with an understated and powerful confidence. Available in a limited edition of 250 pieces for each style, Jacques Marie Mage glasses are crafted by the world’s finest Japanese acetate manufacturers with unparalleled skill and attention to detail.
