Communication Arts Awards Morten Bengtsson
Communication Arts magazine, a professional journal for those involved in creativity in visual communications, has published the results of its 55th annual Communication Arts 2014 Photography competition, the most exclusive major photography competition in the world, and photographer Morten Bengtsson won an Award of Excellence for his “When Mom is Missing” series!
The series “When Mom is Missing” was taken for "Danmark Indsamlingen" translation, "The Denmark Collection", a charity organization that combines forces with The American Red Cross, UNICEF, Medecins sans frontiers and many other projects around the world to raise awareness and donations to address a problem plaguing third world nations. In accordance with this year’s focus on preventing maternal mortality related to pregnancy and childbirth as well as the prevention of HIV and AIDS among women and children, Morten created this series to capture the reality of a child living in a world without a mother.
Morten’s winning “Mom” series was just one of the 155 winners selected from more than 5,200 entrants. You’ll be able to find Morten’s images in Photography Annual 55, the July/August 2014 issue of Communication Arts, both in print and on the iPad, and online atCommarts.com. The judges for this year’s competition included Catriona Ni Aolian, Jimmy Bonner, Laurie Frankel, Tim Hartford and Henry Sene Yee.
