A Manhattan native, Tristam Steinberg has always been fascinated by the city’s incredible architectural history.
Though Tristam left to seek an academic background studying Design and Environmental Analysis at Cornell and UC Berkeley, he has built a career on a foundation of creative inspiration stemming from his hometown of NYC. Since childhood, Tristam has been inspired by the transportive magic of production design. A formative early viewing of Akira Kurosawa’s Seven Samurai left him in awe of the ability of a skilled production designer to create an immersive experience. He was delighted to discover that crafting temporary built environments could be considered ‘work’.
In his early days, Tristam honed his production design skills when working with his mentor Stefan Beckman. With that experience, he developed a confidence in his work that extends naturally to his clients as he shares his vision. Tristam has a passion for travel and infuses those new perspectives into his work. His designs honor his wide reaching experiences while always remaining uniquely tailored to his client’s needs.
Among Tristam’s clients include Dior, Donna Karan, Elizabeth Arden, Galeries Lafayette, Saks, Tommy Hilfiger and Victoria’s Secret. He currently splits his time between New York, NY and Los Angeles, CA.
