Stacy's Picks: Maison Premiere
This past weekend our old babysitter flew in from L.A. to surprise Rory for her 9th birthday. Rory and Sadie were elated to see Krista; David and I were elated at the chance to have a day date and see each other! So on Sunday afternoon we headed over to Maison Premiere in Williamsburg and got a table for two. A self-proclaimed "Oyster House and Cocktail Den", Maison Premiere is something out of old world New Orleans. The low lighting, rustic wood floors, and unassuming air are ideal for loosing track of time and gaining a good buzz. We sat in the backyard garden below a trellis ceiling of tangled vegetation and strings of lights to share a dozen oysters and a drink. The menu boasts over 30 different kinds of oysters and more cocktails than should be allowed so we had plenty to choose from, but settled on a Julep for David and the Maison Bloody Caesar for myself. It was a perfect afternoon. And as it just so happens Maison Premiere has the largest collection of Absinthes in New York City, so as a second trip is definitely in the cards the next time we may just have to pay the green fairy a little visit.
